MIA Natural Stone Craftsman of the Year Award

The MIA Natural Stone Craftsman of the Year Award, sponsored by: Campolonghi Italia and Laticrete International, will single out one craftsman who has physically performed outstanding stone fabrication and/or installation over a period of many years. The individual candidate must have served as an apprentice stone mason and risen through the ranks as journeyman stone mason, foreman and superintendent. In addition, the person honored must have a solid track record of leadership and mentorship — a real educator for those he works with.

While the innate beauty and durability of natural stone is what attracts customers to our products, there is nothing more important than excellence in craftsmanship to get the most out of nature’s oldest building material. That’s why the Marble Institute of America is establishing an award to recognize a single individual whose body of work in the natural stone industry stands out above all else.

Eligibility

The competition to select the Natural Stone Craftsman of the Year is open to all MIA members. To be considered, the craftsman must submit an application detailing his career, plus a letter of nomination from his current employer. In addition, the entry submission should include at least three descriptions and photos of completed projects along with a write-up describing the candidate's role in the project.
