The Pinnacle Awards competition honors natural stone projects worldwide that demonstrate exceptional beauty, creativity, ingenuity, and craftsmanship in their use of granite, marble, travertine, limestone, and other natural stones.

Sponsored by the Marble Institute of America (MIA), the international association for the natural stone industry, participation in this prestigious competition is open to MIA members across the globe. Entries are judged by experts from the natural stone and architectural and design communities, and awards are bestowed for achievements in both the commercial and residential arenas.

	Project teams had to include at least one MIA member company. Projects had to be completed within the past three years. (January 2000-August 2003)
	An independent panel of judges appointed by the MIA Board of Directors evaluated entries based on excellence in design and implementation, quality workmanship, and suitability of materials.
