Shop Layout, Set-up, and Material Flow Review
(Part of the MIA Consultation Program: Bringing Expertise to Your Facility)

Validate that your shop is set up for maximum efficiency; does it follow the flow required for the work being done; and does it allow for room to grow your business. If you are setting up a new shop, this concentrated 1-day consultation is an ideal first-step to learning from the mistakes made by others.

The MIA's training specialist will come to your facility to:

1. Conduct a complete review of your existing facility and/or shop layout plans with an emphasis on maximizing efficiency and minimizing material handling.
   
   
2. Examine your current and projected air, water, and power needs (note: an additional 1-day consultation is available for this topic alone)
   
   
3. Audit the storage, flow of material, and space needs in your stone yard/showroom, coupled with a review of operational forms and paperwork.
   
   
4. Observe material flow from the moment the stone arrives at your facility to the time you are preparing it for shipment to your customer.

A written report with recommendations will be provided, along with a consultation support pack (includes workbooks, training CDs, forms, employee training worksheets, etc.).
