MIA Launches Streaming Video Campaign for Member Firms
March 18, 2005 , CLEVELAND, OH An innovative streaming media package which enables members to stream three programs developed by the Marble Institute of America (MIA) for $100 a year has been introduced by the fast-growing trade organization representing more than 1200 companies around the world.
Streaming video is one of the hottest innovations in the internet world. It allows "moving images" like film and video to be displayed to the viewer as they arrive at the computer. With streaming video, viewers with broadband connections can watch short video clips, training and information and informational programs - even movies.
MIA currently has three programs available for streaming, said Gary Distelhorst, executive vice president of MIA. They include:
- Real Stone, Real Value, a contemporary story of why natural stone is a logical choice for residential and commercial projects.
- From the Quarry to the Kitchen, which showcases natural stone's trip from the quarry through fabrication and installation in the home.
- Care and Maintenance of Natural Stone, a handy electronic guide to maintenance for customers.
"Once you have these programs available on your website, customers will appreciate the information that they provide," Distelhorst said. All can be sampled on MIA's website - www.marble-institute.com.
Distelhorst said there is a one-time $100 set-up fee that links the streaming fountain to the company website. The 12-month fee for actual streaming is $100. The rest of the cost is subsidized by MIA.
